Hi guys and gals of the LEC,

I am making my forth level and I am on room 180. I have used less than 100 objects and less than 100 triggers so I know I am not pushing the limits here…

I have a small problem with triggers working; I am trying to make a trap door open when Lara picks up a puzzle piece. I have set a "pick up" trigger for the piece on the same square as the piece and the trigger for the trapdoor on the same square as well. BUT in game when I pick up the piece nothing happens!! Does anyone know what to do here?

Also I have about three flip maps on the go and they are working fine but I want to trigger one of them when an object is pried from the wall... I tried a key and then a pick up trigger but none of them worked, I got a message saying "You can’t overlap special triggers" What does this mean? And how can I get round it? I know its possible cos Tomb Raider have done it plenty of times!

Please try and help, I'll be getting to room 200 soon!!!

If all keeps going well it should be out around June sometime, after the exams - when the sun shines through the work clouds!!

Alright bye now!!

L U

Hey Lara...
Your first attempt was good (a pick up trigger under the object, plus a simple trigger for the trap door over this pick up) but ou need also to enter the number 64 in the object's OCB in order to activate the pick up trigger (plus any other number according to your object position: on a piedestal, on the floor... Refer to page 83 in the manual)
Try if if you haven't yet...
Hope that helps

For the flipmap its virtualy the same as what jb21 has told you for the trapdoor.... just set a regular trgger for the flip on the same square athe the object and then set a pickup trigger for the object.... make sure 66 is entered in OCB for it all to work...

Good luck.

64 for a pickup on the ground
66 for a "pickup" on the wall (crowbar) and
68 for a pickup on a low pedestal

Lara,

What surprise are you preparing...
Can we have a clue about the title, the setting, the story, the place?...
Which wad? Is it a custom one?
and... do you have any screenshots to show us...
Your enthousiasm seems to be contagious...

There is no release date.... yet. I am taking my time. I will probably release screens when I get to 250 rooms. (which will be in a week or so). Oh and thanx sooo much the "special" triggers work fine now!! I don't know why I didn't think of OCB codes!! I've used them before!! DUH TO ME!! You can keep checking the levels page on my site... and one day *ding - light bulb* it will be there!!
